Blog party, shamefully belated post
This post is long overdue. Actually, its about 3 days or so overdue:
I went to a Blog Party. I had fun.
I didn't want to go. I was sick as a dog and really needed sleep after receiving no more than maybe 3 or 4 hours of sleep in the days and nights leading up to the party (you see, I've been taking these summer courses, furiously trying to finish my degree so that Western will still allow me to get another degree with them). But I had just finished writing my last exam and I was looking for a release. I was also looking forward to meeting people I've only known in blogland for quite a while. And so, after failing to make myself take a nap and make cake, I finally made it to rambling the streets around Sra's place, until she retrieved me, and we drove there with all of the delicious things she baked. We knew we were at the right place when the car was hit with a rubber arrow and we saw people running around on the lawn.
Upon arriving on the lawn, I prompty threw down my bag to climb trees around Chris' yard in my quest for movies movies and more movies. I found them all. I have the cuts and bruises to prove it. I don't even have a place to put all the damn movies I may never watch, but, its ok, I got the movies. I did give one of them away to Nicole though for some reason.
Because of my aforementioned sick and tiredness, I had only planned to stay until maybe midnight at the latest. I would have one drink, socialize a bit, say my hellos and goodbyes and go home safely and early-ly. After climbing all those trees, however, I was suddenly invigorated. I got my drink and quickly drank it all down, and then Corwin decided that, although he'd only known me for a few minutes, he would feed me wine for the rest of the night. And so, before I knew it I was aware that there would be no way I would be driving home safely anytime soon; so I made the most of it.

All in all, the party was excellent, as I'm sure most of the parties on Lester St. were. In my drunken stupor, I remember people guessing on the amount of candy in a jar, surprises I can't remember, rooms filled with balloons, party hats, pretty girls in togas, a thrilling game of road-soccer I wish I would have participated in but would likely have just kicked the curb and/or people instead of the ball judging by the state of my equilibrium at the time. People walked around with Blog Bingo papers and Comment papers on their backs, except me since most of the time I didn't pay all that much attention to what was going on.
I got to talk with old(ish) friends (like Chris, Amy, Dave, Regan, Sherry, Carly - who wore her pirate shirt, and Sra), people I hadn't seen in a while (Tanya - whose freaking amazing blog I've only recently discovered and wish I'd found it so much earlier, Shirley, Mike, etc), newish friendly people (mainly Dave, who I was happy to see, but that also could have been the alcohol), see people I'd been blog-stalking (or did I? He 's right, we really should have worn name tags, although I still wouldn't have been able to get up the nerve to introduce myself), and brand new people, ,like all those guys whose names I can't remember, and Corwin. I somehow managed to hang around with him a lot; he's good company. You should date him.
Although I'm not sure exactly what party it turned out to be - a give away Chris' stuff party (I did get the movies, and I heard about fights over game systems and bong tokes over fridges), a Blog party (many people had blogs, some didn't, and I think I talked about blogs to maybe only Corwin and Tanya [the extent of which was 'your blog's good, mine sucks'] and I was disappointed that some of the shyer bloggers didn't make it [I really would have liked to have met them finally]), a going away party (you'll all sincerely be missed; I'm sorry I'm not good with goodbyes- it was a good party. A very good party. Apologies for not posting this sooner - colds, work, moving day, and all - a few hazy pictures were taken, I think, and will be posted sometime along I don't know when too.
And now, its to the bath with wine to the tune of passing cars and my neighbours playing the drums.
Update: Pictures are up!

Chris is leaving for South Korea (tomorrow), and I really didn't know what to say to him. I wish we could have hung out together more when he was here, but hey, we didn't, and there's not much I can do about that - I mean, he's leaving (tomorrow). I'm actually jealous of his worldly adventures, and all I could do was wish him all the best. It was the same with Mike Morris. He's leaving for Japan, and all I could muster out was a hug (I think, did I give you a hug? I hope I did) and a 'happy trails' as Corwin and I left Spring street (after pizza) at 3AM. I'm just not that good at goodbyes. And now, sitting here in London by myself and not knowing when I'll ever see some people again, I still can't think of any proper way to say goodbye.

Man...I can't believe I missed pizza!
Your post inspired me to post about the party again. If we don't stop blogging about it, it'll never die!
And, to be honest, I didn't really think of you as someone I'd known for 5 minutes when I offered you wine. It's an odd thing, having read peoples blogs, when you first meet them the conversations you have are quite different from the conversations you'd have with someone you've just met and haven't read their blog/blogs about them. Except Sherry, every conversation I've ever had with her has been very weird.
Hey Laura, glad you made it out - If I had known you were hella-ill I would've made you climb additional trees ;)
It IS too bad that we didn't get to talk much, especially since our insta-tan conversation in the quad (so we KNOW that we CAN actually converse, and not too shabbily either!), but maybe one day we'll get another chance, playa.
Cheers!
I'm sorry I didn't make it out... Next time. I promise(: (If there is a next time) Sounds like it was a wonderful party.
